San Rafael, Calif. -- August 30, 1999 -- Jedi Master Yoda invites
young candidates into the Jedi Council chamber to pursue the paths
of math, music and reading in Star Wars: Yoda's
Challenge Activity Center from Lucas Learning Ltd. Star
Wars: Yoda's Challenge Activity Center, now available
for PC and Macintosh, is a mission-based activity center for children
ages six to eight, where the inspiring world and characters of Star
Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace unfold in a series
of fun and challenging games and puzzles.
Players, along with Yoda, are given the opportunity to choose from
six entertaining and immersive missions. Each activity features
twenty to forty preset puzzles organized into four levels, all concentrated
on building a variety of math, reading and music skills while accomplishing
a worthy goal. With the wise Yoda as guide, children can jam with
the Cantina band and help create a songbook for the young Anakin
Skywalker, trap Battle Droids in the forest to help save the environment,
and recover ancient relics in a Naboo swamp cave. The levels are
designed to gradually increase in difficulty and complexity, introducing
new concepts and challenges along the way.
"Star Wars: Yoda's Challenge Activity Center
offers youngsters the opportunity to build key skills while delving
into the rich and stimulating world of Star Wars: Episode
I," says Lisa Dawson, product marketing manager for Lucas Learning.
"Children are able to interact with their favorite Episode
I characters while sharing in captivating and rewarding activities."
