San Rafael, Calif.
-- September 13, 1999 - Lucas Learning Ltd. today announced the release
of Star Wars Pit Droids, a challenging and fast-paced
Star Wars: Episode I puzzle game. The open-ended puzzles in
Star Wars Pit Droids have multiple "right" answers,
and the puzzles become more complex as the player masters each level.
Players must gather and use evidence, form and test hypotheses, and
develop and use logical reasoning skills, while dealing with various
mathematical concepts such as attributes, geometry, numeracy sets
and networks. The puzzles combined with the Star Wars universe
make learning fun!
Star Wars Pit Droids offers four modes of gameplay:
Explore, Game, Build and Play. With the Puzzle Maker option in Build
Mode, players create their own puzzles - and can send them as an email
attachment - to challenge their friends. Eight game levels challenge
players to reach Star Wars Pit Droids puzzle mastery.
In Star Wars Pit Droids, surly junk trader Watto beckons
players to explore more than 300 interactive puzzles. The game features
endless rows of pit droids in six realistic Star Wars-inspired
environments, including Watto's Shop, the open desert, a Podracer
hangar, and the interior of a transport ship. Wacky droids come in
a variety of colors and models, and march under their own power. Without
the player's guidance, they march straight off the edge of the world,
but will eventually arrive at their correct destinations through game
players' trial and error.
