LUCAS LEARNING LTD. NAMES NEW DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

San Rafael, Calif. - September 19, 2000 - Lucas Learning Ltd., developer of award-winning interactive entertainment and educational software, today announced the appointment of Craig Southard to the position of Director of Development. Effective immediately, Southard will oversee the design, creation and implementation of all Lucas Learning products as well as work in partnership with General Manager Jane Boston to shape the company's strategic vision.

Mr. Southard brings fifteen years of experience in developing theoretical and practical applications of new media technology for the entertainment and educational markets. Mr. Southard has produced, designed and directed award-winning interactive products for major publishers and corporations including IBM, VIACOM, Apple Computer, PBS Video, The National Geographic Society, Pioneer Electronics and VISA.

His new position is Southard's second with the Lucas companies. As the founding Director and Executive Producer at Lucasfilm Learning in 1987, Mr. Southard directed early efforts by George Lucas to create unique experiences combining technology and learning. He produced "GTV- A Geographic Perspective of American History", "Paul Parkranger - The Mystery of the Disappearing Ducks" and "Choices & Decisions - Taking Charge of Your Life" and created "MacMagic" an experimental middle school technology program.

Most recently, Southard was Executive Producer at Mondo Media, an Internet entertainment company, where he was responsible for the online services group that developed both original animated content and partnerships. Before Mondo, Mr. Southard created Selavy Studios, which produced CD ROM products for National Geographic Society and websites for PBS Video. Mr. Southard was also the founding partner of Illumina Productions, Inc., an award winning multimedia firm that produced the Hyperman science series for IBM & CBS television.
