(or ctrl-click for Macintosh) and select "Save Link As..."

Objective:
Students will be able to explain the reasons for the methods people have used to communicate myths throughout history.

In this activity, your students will explore the factors that affect the way a group of people share their customs and traditions through myth.

1. Arrange students in groups. Assign each group one myth to report on.

2. Distribute the brainstorming sheet. Review with students what they've learned about the purpose of myths. Tell them they will be thinking of the role myths have played throughout time.

3. You may wish to get students started by discussing modes of communication. What did people do before modern mass communication existed?

4. Tell students that they may use prior knowledge of the practices and the environment of their culture.

5. Plan time for each group to present their ideas.

Tip: You may wish to allow students to use outside resources to do research on their topics.
